Here my personal rework about "linear rail upgrade".
First of all I think it is absolutely necessary upgrading only the x
...さらに表示 axis (as much as adding a 24 V psu) to bring the X5s to another level of performance: the Y axis could be considerated optional.
in my opinion, and due to my experience about, the wheels of X axis stock configuration must be tight too often to avoid precision loss (how it happened to me but not to everyone to be honest).
I think too that for Y axis the rails should be on the side and not on the top of 2020 profiles as I saw for others reworks.
Consider too that with this rework for X carriage you can decide to leave the metal stock plate (of course adding weight) or not: in this case you have to add the m3 nuts by forcing them into the holes in the plastic, so you must be careful not to break the plastic.
You have to change the Y and Z stock endstop too.
For me it works very well, but, as usual when you start a rework, you may need to do some test before the final version.
