a wind storm broke the long wire antenna I used, in taking down the balun I notice the inner cylinder came off the bottom...so I made a sturdier design that tapered
...さらに表示 the bottom....this one (version 1.1) should not have that issue
after doing one long wire antenna and loving it I set out to make another....figured I would do up a nice neat box / container for it rather than butcher a project box
made holes for so-239 chassis mount / bolt holes for wire connectors and wing nuts / small handle with notch to enable easy hoisting up in a tree and put in a little slit to allow a zip tie to go through the handle to help in strain relief in the long wire antenna (newfoundland is known for its wind)
also added in the engraved text to differentiate what connector does the long wire and what one does the counterpoise ....as well as the type of balun it is (I have started making several and almost impossible to tell a 4-1 / 6-1 / 9-1 apart by looking)
keep an eye out on http://www.linuxwolfpack.com for a how to guide in making this one...will be doing up the instruction page this week hopefully given free time
